1. Introduction
Cosmos Focus ("we", "our", or "the App"), operated by Cosmos One, is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, protect, retain, and delete information when you use Cosmos Focus.
Cosmos Focus is an Android focus timer app that primarily processes and stores app data on your device. The App does not require an account and does not use a Cosmos One backend service for timer data. Optional audio downloads require network access to third-party audio hosts, and diagnostic logs may be shared only when you choose to export or send them.
By using Cosmos Focus, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
2. Overview
- Cosmos Focus does not require an account or Google sign-in.
- Timer goals, preferences, completed session records, downloaded clips, legal consent records, and diagnostic logs are stored locally on your device.
- The App may connect to trusted third-party audio hosts when you choose to download optional focus clips.
- The App does not include detected advertising, in-app billing, subscriptions, analytics SDKs, AI providers, push notifications, or external crash-reporting SDKs.
- Diagnostic logs stay on your device unless you choose to copy, share, or report them.
- Cosmos One does not sell your personal information.
- The App is intended for users aged 13 and over.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Information You Provide
You may enter a focus goal or support message. Focus goals are stored locally as part of the timer state. Support messages are sent only if you choose to use a report or share action through Android's sharing system.
3.2 Information Created Through App Use
The App creates and stores timer settings, selected audio options, keep-screen-on preference, completed session summaries, downloaded audio clip metadata, legal consent records, and bounded diagnostic logs.
3.3 Automatically Collected Information
The App records local diagnostic information such as app version, build type, device model, Android version, timestamps, lifecycle events, errors, and crash summaries. These logs are stored locally and redacted before writing.
3.4 Information We Do Not Collect
The App does not collect account passwords, payment card details, advertising identifiers, precise location, contacts, calendar data, microphone recordings, camera images, or health data.
4. Permissions, Storage, and Device Access

The App does not request camera, microphone, location, contacts, calendar, notification, overlay, accessibility, device-admin, or exact-alarm permissions.
5. How We Use Information
We use information to provide the focus timer, save preferences, play or download selected focus audio, show recent session counts, maintain legal consent records, debug failures, create diagnostic archives when requested, and respond to support or feature requests that you send.
We do not use your information for advertising, retargeting, selling to data brokers, unrelated profiling, or training AI models.
6. Data Storage and Security
Most data is stored in Android app-private storage on your device. Diagnostic logs are bounded by file size, file count, and retention period. Logs are redacted for common sensitive patterns before storage. Diagnostic archives are created in cache storage and shared only after you choose a share action.
No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and any third-party apps you choose for sharing.
7. Data Sharing and Disclosure
Cosmos Focus does not automatically upload timer data, goals, logs, or crash reports to Cosmos One. Information may be shared when:
- you choose to download optional audio from a third-party host;
- you choose to copy, share, or report diagnostic logs;
- Android backup, device transfer, or sharing features are enabled by your device or selected apps;
- disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, or security.
8. Third-Party Services
- Google Play and Android: App distribution, operating system features, and Android sharing intents.
- Freesound: Optional downloadable preview audio clips when selected.
- OpenGameArt and Wikimedia Commons: Source and licence references for some bundled or credited audio assets.
- User-selected share targets: Email, messaging, cloud storage, or other apps you choose when sharing diagnostics or support messages.
These services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
9. Data Retention and Deletion
Timer state and preferences remain on your device until changed, cleared by Android, or the App is uninstalled. Completed session summaries are capped in the App. Diagnostic logs are retained for a limited period and can be cleared from the Logging & Debugging screen. Downloaded clips can be removed in the App.
Because Cosmos Focus does not create a Cosmos One account for this app, account deletion is generally not applicable. You may remove local data by clearing app storage or uninstalling the App. You may also contact Cosmos One at support@cosmosone.cloud or visit https://cosmosone.cloud/account-deletion if you believe Cosmos One holds related data.
10. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, object to, or restrict the use of personal information. For local-only data, you can usually exercise these rights directly by clearing app data or uninstalling the App. For support requests or other information you send to Cosmos One, contact us using the details below.
11. Children's Privacy
Cosmos Focus is intended for users aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Cosmos One through the App, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
12. International Data Transfers
Most app data remains on your device. If you contact Cosmos One or choose a third-party share target, information may be processed in Australia or other countries where Cosmos One, service providers, or the selected third-party app operate.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The Last Updated date will show when it changed. If changes are material, the App may ask you to review and accept the updated documents again.
