Oli
Privacy Policy
Last Updated: 9 July 2026 Effective Date: 9 July 2026
1. Introduction
Oli ("we", "our", or "the App"), operated by Cosmos One, is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, protect, retain, and delete information when you use Oli.
Oli is an Android live conversation interpreter. It uses Google sign-in, Google Play subscriptions, and online AI translation through Gemini Live Translate or a configured Cosmos One live-session service that brokers access to Gemini Live Translate. Oli is not an offline-only interpreter; live speech translation requires network access and sends microphone audio to the online translation provider while you are listening.
By using Oli, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
2. Overview
Oli helps users translate supported spoken conversations in real time. The most important privacy points are:
- Oli requires Google sign-in before the main app experience is available.
- Live interpretation is an online feature. While listening is active, Oli captures microphone audio and sends it to the online translation provider for transcription, translation, and translated audio.
- The configured translation provider is Google Gemini API / Gemini Live Translate.
- In production-style builds, Oli may contact Cosmos Apps or another Cosmos One backend to create short-lived live translation sessions, register legal consent, sync Google Play subscription entitlements, and finish usage sessions.
- Conversation text, settings, favourite languages, legal consent, Google account session details, diagnostics, and subscription state may be stored locally on your device.
- Google Play Billing handles subscription purchases and payment processing.
- Oli does not show advertising, use Google AdMob, use a
remove_adsproduct, or include a third-party advertising consent flow in the current app. - Oli does not include a third-party analytics SDK or third-party crash reporting SDK in the current app.
- Diagnostic logs remain on your device unless you choose to copy, share, email, or otherwise send them.
- Cosmos One does not sell your speech, transcripts, translations, Google user data, or conversation history.
- Oli is intended for users aged 13 and over.
3. Google User Data
3.1 Data Accessed from Google
| Google User Data | Source | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Google Account ID / Firebase UID | Google sign-in and Firebase Authentication | Identify the signed-in app session, scope local data to the account, register legal consent where backend registration is configured, and support subscription entitlement checks |
| Email address | Google sign-in and Firebase Authentication | Show the signed-in account, support sign-out and account distinction, and support account-related requests |
| Display name | Google sign-in and Firebase Authentication, where available | Show the signed-in account in the app |
| Profile picture URL | Google sign-in and Firebase Authentication, where available | Store and display the signed-in account profile image if available |
| Google ID token | Google sign-in and Firebase Authentication | Sign in to Firebase and authenticate backend calls where configured |
| Google Play purchase data | Google Play Billing | Query, purchase, restore, acknowledge, validate, and sync subscription entitlements |
Oli does not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Google Contacts, Google Photos, or similar Google content APIs.
3.2 How Google User Data Is Used
Oli uses Google user data only to provide user-facing app functionality:
- authenticating the user with Google sign-in and Firebase Authentication;
- showing the signed-in account in Settings;
- scoping local legal consent, conversation history, and subscription state to the signed-in account;
- registering account consent with Cosmos One where the backend is configured;
- requesting live translation sessions where the backend requires a signed-in user;
- syncing Google Play subscription entitlements where the backend is configured.
Google user data is not used for advertising, retargeting, personalised ads, data-broker sales, unrelated profiling, or training Cosmos One AI models.
3.3 How Google User Data Is Shared
Google user data may be processed by Google sign-in, Android Credential Manager, Firebase Authentication, Google Play services, and Google Play Billing as part of authentication and purchase handling.
Where configured, Oli may send a Firebase ID token or authenticated request to Cosmos Apps or another Cosmos One backend so the service can verify the signed-in user, register legal consent, sync subscription status, and create provider sessions. Cosmos One does not sell Google user data.
Google user data is not sent to Gemini Live Translate for advertising. Live translation requests are used to provide translation functionality and may include audio, selected languages, session configuration, and technical metadata required by the provider.
3.4 How Google User Data Is Stored and Protected
Oli stores account session details such as email address, display name, profile picture URL, and Firebase UID in Android app-private DataStore storage. Subscription state and purchase tokens may be stored in Android encrypted shared preferences where supported, with a fallback to normal private shared preferences.
Oli does not receive or store your Google password. Google ID tokens are used for sign-in and authenticated backend requests; they are not stored as long-term local account data by Oli. Network requests use transport security provided by the platform, Google services, and configured backend endpoints.
3.5 Google User Data Retention and Deletion
Local Google account session details remain until you sign out, clear app data, or uninstall the App. Backend account, consent, session, or subscription records may be retained as needed for service operation, entitlement enforcement, abuse prevention, support, accounting, and legal compliance.
Users may request account and data deletion by visiting https://cosmosone.cloud/account-deletion or by emailing support@cosmosone.cloud. You can also revoke the app's Google access through your Google Account controls where available.
3.6 Google API Services Limited Use Disclosure
Cosmos One's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:
- We only use Google user data to provide or improve user-facing features that are visible and prominent in the application.
- We do not transfer Google user data to third parties except as necessary to provide the user-facing features described in this Privacy Policy, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale with prior user notice.
- We do not use Google user data for serving advertisements, including retargeting, personalised, or interest-based advertising.
- We do not allow humans to read Google user data unless we have the user's explicit consent, it is necessary for security purposes, it is necessary to comply with applicable law, or the data is aggregated and anonymised for internal operations.

We do not use your speech, transcripts, translations, Google user data, or local conversation history to sell data, train Cosmos One AI models, or build advertising profiles.
7. Subscriptions, Purchases, and Billing Data
Oli offers Google Play subscription products for access to online live interpretation features and usage limits. Google Play handles payment processing, subscription management, refunds, payment disputes, taxes, and payment credentials.
Oli receives product details, purchase status, and a purchase token so it can grant, restore, acknowledge, validate, sync, or revoke subscription entitlements. Server-backed builds may sync purchase metadata with Cosmos Apps or another Cosmos One service so online AI usage limits and access rules can be enforced.
Oli does not receive or store full payment card details. Oli does not include a one-time remove_ads product.
8. AI Features and AI Data Handling
Oli sends live microphone audio to Google Gemini API / Gemini Live Translate so Google can provide live transcription, translation, and translated audio. The App may also send selected language codes, model/session configuration, audio stream events, and technical metadata needed to operate the session.
Where Cosmos One live-session services are configured, the App may first request a short-lived provider session or provider credential. That backend request may include the signed-in user identity, app identifier, selected languages, client session identifier, provider preference, capability metadata, and entitlement information. The live-session provider is intended to protect provider credentials, route sessions, enforce access rules, record legal consent or usage metadata where applicable, and return the session details needed by the App.
Google's handling of Gemini API input, output, logs, retention, safety processing, abuse monitoring, and product-improvement settings is governed by Google's current terms, policies, service tier, project settings, and region availability. Oli does not control Google's processing, retention, availability, safety filters, model behaviour, or policy changes.
Avoid speaking sensitive, confidential, regulated, or third-party personal information into Oli unless you have the right to do so and accept the risks of online AI processing. Transcripts and translations may be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, interrupted, or affected by background audio, accents, network conditions, provider limits, or safety controls.
